New Seabird Hospital

Donate a brick and help SANCCOB save endangered African penguins and other seabirds

Our seabird centre in Table View, Cape Town has been in operation for 33 years and has served the needs of more than 95 000 seabirds. But the elderly buildings and facilities are now in desperate need of renovation. And we need your help to raise the necessary funding to build a new and better seabird hospital.

Donate one (or more!) ‘bricks’ for just R50 each and be part of taking our vital work into the future.

Apart from increasing capacity (we currently admit around 2 500 seabird patients every year), the new state-of-the-art facility will include a surgery, ICU, X-ray room, wash/rinse/drying bay, pools and pens, an aviary, admissions area, food preparation area and more. Whilst the majority of the funds for the rebuild have been secured, we still need an additional R3 million to complete the project, which started in March 2017.

There are some crucial items required to complete the building development, and we appeal to individuals, corporates and business owners to contact our office should you be in a position to assist or contribute in any way. These requirements include:

  • Plants and landscaping as part of the re-vegetation process
  • Inter-locking cement paver (610 m2 – 80mm)
  • Shelving for fridge/freezer
  • Stainless steel drying rack for food preparation
  • Office chairs (adjustable height) x5
  • Stools (adjustable height) x2
  • Outdoor benches & tables
  • Water cooler
  • Ultrasonic nebuliser x4
  • IV stand x3
  • Aesthetic trolley
  • Dressing trolley
  • Kick-bucket x2
  • Fans x11

As the biggest development in SANCCOB’s almost 50-year legacy, we hope you will be part of this exciting project by using the form below to make your donation right now. Thank you!
