Effects of Oil on Wildlife Conference 2025

Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research, Inc. is excited to announce that on Thursday May 1^st early
registration opens for the 15^th International EAects of Oil on Wildlife Conference! This year we
partnered up with the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds
(SANCCOB) to host EOW in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa. We’ll be honoring the 25^th
anniversary of the incredible MV Treasure oil spill response and highlighting the urgent conservation
need for African Penguins – who were recently uplisted to critically endangered by the IUCN and
have an impending extinction date of 2035 if immediate action isn’t taken.

Early Bird Registration runs from May 1^st until June 1^st, starting at $275 for full registration,
which includes tickets to the exclusive African Penguin Awareness Day Release Event (weather
dependent) on Saturday October 11^th, tickets to the Icebreaker Reception at the SANCCOB facility
on Monday October 13^th, and tickets to the Banquet Dinner on Wednesday October 15^th. If you’d
like to bring a guest, we also have extra tickets available for the Icebreaker Reception and Banquet
Dinner that you can purchase at registration or add-on anytime.

Workshops and Field Trips will be available for an additional cost starting on Sunday June
1^st when early bird registration ends. You can still register for the conference in the early bird
registration period and add on your Workshops and Field Trips later once those become available.
Our Program and Host Committee are working hard to bring you some incredible choices this year,
and some will have limited options – so make sure you’re registered and ready on June 1^st to sign up
before they fill up!

The venue this year will be the incredible President Hotel, a luxurious resort located in
Bantry Bay on the stunning Atlantic Coast in Cape Town, South Africa. Special EOW room block
rates will be available from October 9^th to October 17^th and are available to book at this rate starting
May 1^st until September 13^th.
