SANCCOB National Science Week Events: The Science behind the endangered African penguin

SANCCOB (the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds) is celebrating National Science Week by hosting three public events from 6 to 13 August.

SANCCOB Seabird Centre Open Days

Dates: Tuesday, 9 August and Saturday, 13 August

Description: Ever wondered what a seabird hospital looks like and how seabirds are cared for, treated and fed? SANCCOB’s seabird centre is offering free public tours every 30 minutes from 10am-4pm. Come and see the work that SANCCOB does through a behind the scenes tour and learn about the science behind the endangered African penguin. Tours are suitable for all ages and walk-ins are welcome.

Description: Join SANCCOB and Princess the ambassador African penguin at Tygerberg Nature Reserve and discover the science behind the endangered African penguin. The talk is suitable to all ages. Refreshments and educational materials will be provided.
